Come Practice with us!
Dondoko Taiko practices on Sunday evenings at the Fort Worth Japanese Society. We divide our practice times into three separate classes so that everyone can feel comfortable in their Taiko experience. You may come for just one class, or stay for them all!
If you have no musical experience, please sign up for the Beginner class to start. Beginner Classes are started in January, June and August. If you are interested, please watch for the Beginner Class registration link in the TOP menu bar. If you want to see a beginner class before you register, please contact us for an available date and time to observe.
Taiko classes are open to anyone age 14 and up!
You do not need to bring Bachi (taiko drum sticks) to your first class.
Experienced musicians and those who have completed the beginner course will enjoy a 1-month trial period of the Intermediate and Advanced classes and after that, classes are $20 per month (includes all three classes).
Proper attire for Taiko practice:
Non-skid shoes or bare feet
Comfortable workout clothes
Other useful items:
Sweat towel
Water bottle
Band-Aids
Beginners – 5:00pm
For those that have never played before or just want to go at a slower pace. This class is limited and by registration only.
Intermediate -3:30pm
For those with some musical experience or those that learn quickly!
Advanced – 2pm
For those with Taiko experience or professional music experience. Meets on a irregular basis. Please contact us before coming.
